Life By Seconds

My dad told me one Sunday about when he was in the military that in the morning they would make them put on there clothes at a certain time, and when they don't get there stuff on all the the way would have to leave it that way. The drill instructor would say,"socks!" and he would say"1,2,3,4,5!" and then he would go to another piece of clothing and would count,"1,3,5!" My dad told me that they would skip numbers.


Later that evening Kevin said it would be a good idea if he did the seconds, I really didn't know what happened but on our way to church he said he didn't want to do the seconds any more.

family Night

Today we went to a circus at the Honda Center. When we got there they told us that we could go down and watch them do there acts before the show started. I was a little nervous when I saw the clowns and I stayed away from them. wen the show was about to begin we went to our sweet. When we got there it was very nice. we had pizza and desert drinks Candy and cookies.

When the show started it was really funny. some parts was scary but exiting there were people flipping and singing and jumping and telling jokes. It was fun and was perfect for the summer. when we first came I wanted it to be finished and then we would go home, but during intermission I wanted the show to go on.


After intermission they showed the penguins come out and do there Little act then the tigers came! it was so scary when a tiger growled at the man I thought that the tiger was going to give eat his head off! Part of the time I couldn't even understand the guy who was talking. It sounded like he was speaking German or french, like yelling out commands to the tigers.

About three hours later the show was finished I was sad I didn't want it to be over, because I knew I would have to Waite a hole year for them to come back.

The Strange Day

A few days ago It was last Saturday I think. I was with my grandma and we just got out of Staples and we saw this man with a little girl and they were selling bracelets and you could tell they were poor. The man asked if we would like to buy a bracelet, my grandma checked her bag but she didn't have any cash with her so we walked baked to the car and she checked the change box and there was over two dollars so she had me walk over there to give the man the change. She told me not to take a bracelet, and to watch for cars.

I walked over there just fine when I gave the man the change he started crying, and the little girl said god bless you. When I heard her say that I started walking across the street.There was a big pillar on the side of me and I did not hear anything. So I started to walk across the street. I looked to my left and I saw this big humongous truck and I just stood there looking at it. The guy in the car swerved his car out of the way just in time. Really he could have done it a little quicker because I actually felt the wind from his car blow on me.

Once that was over I turned to see the man but he was gone. I walked back to the car were my grandma was almost crying over me. Then I asked her where the man and girl went. I told her if he went around the corner he should be a marathon runner, and if he was to walk down the other way I would have saw him.

so we went back home not telling anybody what happened about my almost dying but we did tell them about the man. we got a bag with water and 50$ in cash and we drove off to find them again but we looked all over the place but we didn't find them. So we went back home. I told my grandma I had enough of shopping.

Philadelphia celebrated the first anniversary in a manner a modern American would find quite familiar: an official dinner for the Continental Congress, toasts, 13-gun salutes, speeches, prayers, music, parades, troop reviews, and fireworks. Ships were decked with red, white, and blue bunting.
In 1778, General George Washington marked Independence Day with a double ration of rum for his soldiers and an artillery salute. Across the Atlantic Ocean, ambassadors John Adams and Benjamin Franklin held a dinner for their fellow Americans in Paris, France.
In 1779, July 4 fell on a Sunday. The holiday was celebrated on Monday, July 5.
Observance
In 1941, Congress changed Independence Day to a paid federal holiday. The residents of Vicksburg, Mississippi, celebrated Independence Day for the first time since July 4, 1863, when the Siege of Vicksburg ended with a Union victory during the American Civil War.

leadership

I found a book called" The Treasury of quotes" by Jim Rohn. I was looking through it and I found a few quotes about leadership, and I thought to myself,"wow this really makes a lot of sense.


"The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude. be kind,but not weak. Be bold but not a bully. Be thoughtful, but not lazy. Be humble, but not timid. Be proud, but not arrogant. Have humor, but without folly"


"My mentor said,"Let's do it" not "you do it." How powerful when someone says "let's!"

"A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly, to do well, and to help those who do well to do even better"

"If you share a good Idea long enough it will eventually fall on good people"

"In leadership we teach: Don't send a Duck to eagle school,because it wont help. The duck finishes eagle school, sees his first rabbit, makes him a friend.

Those were just a few quotes I found. I did have to read it over a few times but then I got the lesson on what it meant. I had a lot of fun reading this quotes.

The great night

Today Olivia and I both received the renewal of the holy ghost. I am really proud of Olivia, because I felt that she changed. I thanked the Lord when we were finished praying. I know now that she will be different, but in a good way. I can honestly tell you that I never seen Olivia pray like that, and I felt the power of God in the church, I have never felt his power so strong before. I told Olivia that she had changed, and she said "You know what, I felt the same exact thing when we prayed together".



I saw how fired up the church got when I was not praying, and I wanted to be apart of it. When I went to pray with her I saw how adjusted people were getting. I saw pastor walking next to Don, then he shot up right next to Don and started praying with him. I saw everyone reacting to the spirit of God and that's when I walk up to Olivia, and started praying with her. When I started praying I started filling Gods presence in the church.



This morning I was listening to Sis. Sabrina talk about conquering fear, and I really grabbed a hold to what she was saying. She would have us read scriptures from the Bible, about fear, how its not of God but of the devil, and if we get scared, or evil emotions, to pray. I really liked what she taught. I love every one in the church.

Father's day

Lats Day Of Shcool !

On the last day of school is the promotion for the 6th graders. What we were suppose to do, is walk down the Isle with our book buddies, first graders, that we mentor. But one thing I did not know was that when we walk down the Isle and HOLD HANDS I was melting down in a puddle, because my book buddy was a boy, and I was the only girl who had a boy. All the other girls had girls,and the guys all had guys. But as I heard before "swim against the current" or something like that.

So as the practices went on I was "swimming against the current" at first I took the phrase seriously and I was doing other stuff that the people were doing! I'm playing around!LOL=) I did follow all the directions, like I had a girl, but my book buddy was running around and he was standing in places he shouldn't be at. I would tell him to stop but he would tell me that he had ADHD. so when we walk down the Isle he would walk to slow or walk to fast. Then we had to practice our song and we would mess up and people would laugh, and then the teachers would get mad.

Then the day came for the graduation and I got as dressed up. My friend came and gave my a ride. When we got there Some people were wearing regular school clothes, but only like 4 or 5. Then the ceremony started. We had to walk over to the first grade class area, and look for our book buddies. I could not find mine anywhere. So we waited on the steps waiting for the ceremony to start. I got paired up with a boy named Tracy and his book buddy, since mine wasn't there. Luckily I didn't have to hold hands with anyone. We sat down, then I saw my book buddy, he was late.

The ceremony started out okay, a girl named Sierra R. sang the star spangled banner, but the music messed up on her, and then they made her sing with no music at all. I was very embarrassed for her. When they were giving out medals for promotion, The Principal couldn't get the medal around my head and bun. Everyone laughed, but it was okay. Then I told her I would just hold it. I got my certificate and sat down. Then we sang a song, "don't you ever wish you were someone else" and the music stopped again, so we sang without and music. The that was the end of the ceremony.

This is a day I will never forget.

My name is Madison,or more known as Maddy.I turned 12 today, and I feel more grown up.
I have a sometimes nice-but sometimes annoying brother.
my mom is the best woman you will ever meet and my dad is a strong believing pentecostal and I look up to both of my parents. my dad helps our pastor(pastor Pryor)like if he is gone or sick.my dad preaches or ends prayer meetings on Mondays, but he preaches like a pastor! My mom is a Sunday school teacher, who teaches 8 and 9 yr old. When I grow up I want to be a Sunday school teacher just like my mother.
